While all the furore over the Indo-US nuclear deal has been gripping the country, and has been played out on national TV endlessly until the viewer can practically throw up, one comic video featuring the irrepressible Lalu Prasad has suddenly come to light, though it has pretty much been the rage on the Net for some time now.

Trust Lalu to show our other politicians, who seem to take themselves too seriously, that politics too can be fun. No other politician can make a whole House, especially one like ours that has members who come close enough to throwing slippers at each other, put aside political differences and laugh as one.

For those who have never seen this masterpiece as yet, we give you vintage Lalu. See here why he's India's favourite politician. In fact, it might be a good idea to even make him Prime Minister?

Lalu speaks on the Rail Budget
Here, Lalu uses a Hindi poem to introduce his Rail Budget for 2008, and then gives his own English translation. We call this the 'Phirut tree special'. Don't miss the chuckling Speaker, who is quite a funny man himself.

Another one on the Rail Budget
In an interview to a TV channel, the honourable Railway Minister speaks about how he is a man for the people. Noble words indeed, but even these sound funny when coming from the mouth of India's original stand-up comic act. It's when he slips into English (especially when the interviewer insists on speaking in this noble language) that he becomes most classic.

A spoof
And finally, we give you Raj Thackeray and Lalu Yadav crossing swords on Valentine's Day. When did this happen? Well, watch and decide for yourselves.
