The couple, from Maryland in the US, attached a sex toy to a saw hoping for a better buzz, but the saw cut through the vibrator and wounded the women.
Her partner phoned emergency services and she was airlifted to hospital, TheBayNet.com reported.
According to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, the man admitted using the high-powered home-made device on his partner.
The lady in question told investigators that she suffered the injuries during a consensual act and that she and her partner were trying something new and no crime was committed, the sheriff's office said.
She has now been released from hospital and is recovering from her injuries.
