Asylum India spoke to the cute and bubbly Juhi Pande -- one of the most popular VJs on Indian television currently.

How did you land the gig at Channel V?
By accident actually. I was working at Elite Model Management as a model manager in Mumbai and some of our models were participating in a Channel V show... so I was with them during this process. While I was chatting with a friend of mine, Amar Deb, the head honcho of [V] at that time walked over and told me I talked a lot --which I found... ummm funny. He asked me if I'd like to audition. I was quite taken aback and told him that I was very happy with my current job but then 4 months later I quit.... went travelling to Nairobi.... got back after a few weeks and got a call from Amar saying "I believe you've quit your job... why don't you come and meet Rupali and me now" (Rupali being the exec producer)... and that was that.


What's the best thing you like about your job?
I just have to be me -- and that's the long and short of it. It doesnt really get better than that now does it? Plus you get to shoot some insanely awesome promos and thats quite a lot of fun. And you get to work with some really cool peope!

If you could produce your own show and host it, what would the show be about?
About nothing and everything. I used to do a show with Neil a while back called 'Basement'. It was the best fun ever. So it would be something like 'Basement'.

You appeared in 'Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye' earlier this year. Can we expect to see you in more films in the future?
Ummm, I don't know. The film making process is really long... and I don't know if I quite enjoy it... plus a lot of Hindi films are really baseless... so that doesn't really appeal to me. Though I do enjoy the process of acting. I just did my first play. It's called 'Some Girls" and it is directed by Nadir Khan... and it was so much fun acting on stage. This was my first theater experience and it's something that I'm quite certain I'll continue doing.

Up & coming actors often say they would only take up "interesting roles" in Bollywood -- but you if you got a chance to dance silly with a shirtless-Hrithik Roshan in Hawaii, would you do it?
Hell yeah! Why not? But it would be a one off.... plus I'd just do it for a lark... why say no to Hawaii, right?

What kind of music don't you like?
Ummmm, dull music. (laughs). I'm not big on love songs. They bug me. I'm not a big fan of metal either... but everything in between is awesome.

There was a guy on the internet who though the most attractive part of your body was your "curvacious stubbly armpits". So ... is it?
God! I hope not. And I hope he had trouble seeing properly. Seriously? (laughs)

Girls often say they love guys who make them laugh but has it ever happened you ended up being funnier than the guy you liked?
Ummmm, yeah ;)

You're not currently single but when guys hit on you -- what works and what doesn't?
Them hitting on me is what doesn't work.

Anything you want to promote or let the world know?
Damn! So much. Starting with 'save the planet,' 'use less plastic,' 'recycle,' 'car-pool'... these things really matter to me -- and they should to everyone. It's the only place we got, so be kind to it. Also... if 'Some Girls ' is coming to your city, buy the ticket, take the ride! Also, my new show 'School of Cool' is on every Saturday at 7pm. It gives you a round up of everything fun happening in the country. So try and catch it.
